Adrik Zhabin is a Squaller at the Little Palace, as well as the younger brother of Nadia Zhabin.

Biography

Adrik made it to the Spinning Wheel after the First Army raided the Little Palace. He was disbelieving of his sister being friends with Alina Starkov, and is honored to meet her. Adrik is later present when Nikolai Lantsov announces his engagement to Alina. After David Kostyk arrives at the Spinning Wheel, Adrik leads Nadia, Alina, and Tamar Kir-Bataar to the war room to talk with him.

Adrik searches for a weakness in the nichevo'ya when they attack during Alina and Nikolai's engagement party, and he and Nadia attempt to fight one off with their Squaller powers. He finds Alina when the Darkling presents himself to her in a vision and ushers her out of the hallway. As they seek out the tunnels, a nichevo'ya sneaks up behind them and yanks Adrik up by his arm, badly wounding him. Tamar and Nadia carry him out as Alina fends off the Darkling.

In the caves, Tamar amputates Adrik's injured arm. Genya Safin tends to his wound and reassures him that he will still be able to summon. At Dominik Vertov's fort, David makes Adrik a mechanical arm, and Adrik goes with Nadia, Nikolai, and Dominik on the Hummingbird. However, the ship is brought down by the Darkling's Grisha. The crew attempts to escape as the Darkling expands the Shadow Fold, and Adrik pushes Nadia's dislocated arm back into place.

Genya finds Adrik after the Darkling is defeated. They look for David, who had sacrificed himself to save Genya, but find nothing. Adrik is present as the Darkling's body is burned. Nadia invites him to hunt slavers with the crew on the Volkvolny, but Adrik declines, and they bid each other goodbye.
