The Bone Road is a region in the northern part of the True Sea where the sea whip was rumored to be found.[1]
History[]
The Bone Road became the home of the Sea Whip after it was revived and made an amplifier by Ilya Morozova. Alina was taken into the Bone Road on a ship piloted by the Darkling's men where they hunted the creature to use it as an amplifier. Although they killed the creature and made it into an amplifier, Sturmhond rescued Alina and took her back to Ravka.
Description[]
Of the many islands located in the Bone Road, only two are named: Jelka and Vilka, meaning the Fork and Knife. These islands are frequently hidden by mist and are only approached by the most experienced sailors, most of whom are Fjerdan whalers. Many ships have been wrecked on the unnamed islands of the Bone Road.
The water appears black in the Bone Road; the temperature is frigid.
