Commander Chalikov is a commander of the First Army.
Biography[]
At some point before the creation of the Fold Chalikov joined the First Army and became a commander.
After the King's soldiers murdered the Darkling's partner Luda, the Darkling sought Morozova's journals and was studying them when he found the building he was in surrounded by more of the King's men with arrows. They were led by Commander Chalikov.
Chalikov faced the Darkling and told him he was surrounded, and that if the Darkling were to use the Cut on him, his men had orders to kill everyone including the Darkling's mother, Baghra, who was inside the building in that moment. Chalikov then said that the King wanted the Darkling in custody and that he had to hold his arms wide as not to use his Grisha powers. He ordered his soldiers to shoot the Darkling if he were to move.
The Darkling held his arms in apparent surrender but started to murmur in Old Ravkan language as he began to use merzost. This was the moment the Shadow Fold was created and Chalikov and his men turned into monsters known as volcra.
