DeKappel was a Kerch oil painter.
Works[]
Councilman Hoede had a DeKappel in his office. It was a demure oil portrait of a lady with a book open in her lap and a lamb lying at her feet.[1]
Jan Van Eck had a DeKappel worth almost 100,000 kruge in his house gallery. Six months prior to the events of Six of Crows, Kaz Brekker and Inej Ghafa stole it;[1] Kaz kept it rolled up under his bed.[2]
One of the chapels in the thumb nave of the Church of Barter contains a DeKappel. The oil painting, which depicts "a family of merchants dressed in black, cradled in Ghezen's hand, hovering over a citrus grove," is framed by a gold altar.[3]
