Eil Komedie is a tiny island off the coast of Ketterdam, located west of Fifth Harbor and east of Imperjum.

History

At some point, Eil Komedie was home to a Komedie Brute-themed amusement park, but was eventually abandoned. The island was owned by Jan Van Eck, who registered the property under Wylan Van Eck's name.

Crooked Kingdom

After capturing Inej Ghafa on Vellgeluk, Van Eck stashed her in a makeshift cell in the equipment room of an old theater on Eil Komedie. In order to draw Kaz Brekker's attention, Van Eck sent Adem Bajan, a conspicuous Suli boy, back and forth from the island every day. When Inej escapes from her cell, Van Eck's guards hold her to a prop table and he threatens to break her legs before returning her to her cell. The next night in the theater, Van Eck reveals his plan to lure Kaz to Eil Komedie and kill him. Instead, he receives a note from Kaz that forces him to take Inej from Eil Komedie back to Ketterdam.

Description

The only thing on the island is an abandoned, broken-down amusement park. The park included a now-abandoned theater. Its green velvet seats have been eaten by moths, the green curtains are in shreds, and the stage remains set up for one of the short plays from the Komedie Brute. It is dank and smells of hay and greasepaint, but the stage lights are still functional.
