Poppy is a performer at the Emerald Palace.

Biography[]

Poppy took in an East Ravkan woman and her daughter for a few nights after the Conductor helped them cross the Shadow Fold. After being stopped and interrogated in the Crow Club, the woman confesses this to Kaz Brekker, who has previously worked with Poppy and gained possession of her shares of the Crow Club.

With the help of Jesper Fahey providing a diversion, Kaz enters Poppy's dressing room in the Emerald Palace. At first, Poppy aims a pistol at him, still holding a grudge from before, but soon begins to listen to Kaz. Poppy assumes that Kaz is looking for a job, and argues that he will never make enough kruge to compete with Pekka Rollins. However, Kaz discovers that Tante Heleen had asked Poppy about the Conductor as well. Poppy had written him a note to avoid her, but Kaz realizes that Tante Heleen would have tracked down the messenger, putting the Conductor in danger. Poppy reveals his location, and Kaz finds the Conductor just in time to prevent Inej Ghafa from murdering him.[1]

Later, Poppy performs in a new show at the Blue Paradise, which Jesper hopes to see. He invites Wylan Hendriks to watch it with him.[2]
