The Grishaverse

Hringkälla or the Day of Listening is an annual event in Fjerda that takes place on the spring equinox. It is the day new drüskelle are initiated. The event takes place on the White Island of the Ice Court and consists of a sacred drüskelle ceremony and a secular party at the Royal Palace.

Guests from around the world come to Djerholm for a big party hosted by the Fjerdan royals. Aspirant drüskelle gather at the ancient ash tree in the center of the White Island to hear the voice of Djel. If the young men cross the ice moat undetected, they are initiated into the drüskelle in the listening ceremony at the sacred ash.

"Every drüskelle in history has been inducted into the order through the same ceremony since Djel anointed the first of us. That's what Hringkälla celebrates. [...] People forget this is a holy night."
