The Grishaverse
The Grishaverse

"In the days when Ravka had been split from its western coastline by the Shadow Fold, Kribirsk had served as the last place of safety, a town where merchants and bold travelers outfitted their journeys and where soldiers might spend a final night drinking away their terror or paying for comfort in a lover's arms before they boarded a sandskiff and were launched into the unnatural darkness of the Fold."
— Description, King of Scars

Kribirsk is a city in central Ravka that serves as one side of the crossing of the Shadow Fold. It is located on the eastern side of the Fold.

History[]

Shadow and Bone[]

Kribirsk is where Alina Starkov and Malyen Oretsev stay with their regiment before crossing the Fold.[1]

King of Scars[]

Kribirsk's economy has suffered greatly since the city is no longer a necessary port, as the Shadow Fold is no longer dangerous to cross. A blazing golden sun is hung over the entry of the church, making it clear that the building had been reconsecrated to Sankta Alina.[2]

After Nikolai Lantsov attempts the obisbaya ritual and is injured, Zoya Nazyalensky sets out for Kribirsk and returns with horses, a pack of traveling clothes, and a young Grisha Healer.[3]

Description[]

Kribirsk had been a sleepy market town before the Fold was created, containing little more than a main square and an inn for travelers. However, it became a ramshackle port city, with a permanent military encampment and a drydocks where sandskiffs waited to take passengers across the Fold to West Ravka. There are taverns, pubs, brothels, shops selling necessary equipment for a journey across the Fold, and a small church.[1]
