Sankta Yeryin of the Mill is the patron saint of hospitality.
Biography[]
Yeryin was the daughter of a miller in Ahmrat Jen. Her father was a servant to a Shu nobleman who intended to host a grand banquet, but discovered he had only one bag of flour in his stores. The nobleman called for the miller and accused him of being a thief. Yeryin begged the nobleman to spare her father and promised that the Saints would fill the storehouse with milled flour by the next day. After agreeing to stay the miller's execution, the nobleman locked Yeryin in the mill and posted guards by the doors, since he suspected Yeryin of dishonesty.
The next morning, the nobleman and his wealthy friends opened the storehouse to find it stacked with flour bags and Yeryin asleep on the floor. The flour was the finest, whitest flour anyone had ever seen. Yeryin claimed that the Saints made her able to grind all the flour in a single night, but the nobleman did not believe her. He thought Yeryin had managed to steal the flour and make a fool of him.
The guards told the nobleman that Yeryin had never left the mill, so he concluded that she must have dug a tunnel out. The nobleman and his friends took shovels and pickaxes to the ground of the storehouse, talking and digging until they had dug so deep that no one on the surface could hear them.
When the nobleman and his guests disappeared into their tunnel, Yeryin's father invited all of his and Yeryin's friends to help themselves to the flour. Yeryin, her father, and all the servants had a feast, toasting Yeryin many times.
Powers and abilities[]
Yeryin's ability to mill copious amounts of very fine flour in a single night may indicate that she was a Grisha Fabrikator.
