At the Darkling's behest, Malyen Oretsev tracks down the sea whip. After a violent exchange with the Darkling and his guards, Alina Starkov kills Rusalye with a single blow and cuts seven scales from the beast to harness as a cuff-like amplifier that circles her wrists.
