The Soldat Sol, also known as the Sun Soldiers, are the holy warriors sworn to protect Alina Starkov. They were originally led by the Apparat, but now follow Alina.

After Alina obtained the power of the three Amplifiers of Morozova, her ability to summon was taken, and given to several of her followers, of which only one is confirmed: Vladim. Now he and the new Sun Summoners are trained in the capital, and have the duty to completely clean the Fold.
Rule of Wolves[]
At night, Sun Soldiers maintain the light around the Darkling's glass prison. One of them brings chairs inside when Nikolai Lantsov visits him.[1] Sun Soldiers travel with the Darkling to an abandoned sanatorium, bending light around the airship to keep the vehicle out of sight.[2] After the Darkling escapes his bonds, the Sun Soldiers blast him with light to no avail.[3]
They later flood Arkesk with sunlight to illuminate the fields before the Ravkans deploy their titanium missiles.[4] Sun Soldiers bracket the Darkling as they travel to the Monastery of Sankt Feliks, and they kneel after the Darkling enters the thorn-wood tree.[5]
