The Grishaverse

The Disciple is a thief that had a tendency to steal Saint-related relics. He is the husband of Ohval Saran.

Biography[]

The Disciple took the Neshyenyer for Ohval Saran (who was actually Sankta Neyar in disguise) and returned it to her as his last act before retiring as a thief. In the years afterward, The Disciple put a few pieces of his collection on the black market. Ohval, his wife, acted as his fence. They live in a house in Bhez Ju, where Ohval trapped the front room with poison as a precaution to eliminate any potential intruders who could endanger her husband.[1]

While the rest of his crew fights with Ohval in front of the house, Kaz Brekker finds The Disciple in a back room. He tells them about the Crows, claiming that they are art collectors from Kerch. The Disciple informs Kaz of the Bhez Ju Museum and discloses that Ohval herself had made the Neshyenyer. Once her secret is revealed, Ohval ushers her husband back to bed and kisses him before handing the blade over to Jesper Fahey.[2]

Physical description[]

The Disciple is an elderly man, with short white hair and a dark robe.

Relationships[]

Ohval Saran[]

"He's not my weakness. He's my universe. And I will see him through his days. Sharing every moment... until he is part of the night sky."
— Ohval Saran to The Disciple

After closing her heart for hundreds of years, Ohval allowed herself to become blindsided by her love for The Disciple. He returned the Neshyenyer to her and they married. Ohval became his caretaker, creating elaborate traps to protect him and fighting anybody who came near.[2]
